Why The Woodlands Homeowners Call Spring Branch AC

Real technicians, not salespeople

Nobody here works on commission. Technicians are trained to diagnose and repair your system, and to talk through replacement only when the numbers actually support it.

Family owned since 1956, veteran owned today

Spring Branch AC has been family owned since 1956. Chris Crawford, a 20 year Air Force veteran, took over the company in 2019 and still runs it.

No upcharge for nights or weekends

Phones are answered 24 hours a day, same-day service is available, and an evening or weekend call costs the same as a Tuesday morning.

One team for HVAC and plumbing

Every technician is cross-trained in both trades, so the company that services your AC can also handle a water heater or a clogged drain line.

What We Run Into on The Woodlands Service Calls

The housing stock here spans 50 years. Homes in Grogan’s Mill and Panther Creek date to the mid 1970s and are usually on their second or third system, while Creekside Park homes built after 2007 are reaching the 10 year mark where problems start showing up. The preserved pine canopy that shades those streets also packs the outdoor coil with needles and pollen every spring.

What to Expect When You Call Us

1. Call or request service

Someone answers the phone 24 hours a day. Tell us what the system is doing and we schedule the visit, often for the same day.

2. We diagnose the whole system

The technician checks the system end to end to find the root cause, rather than swapping a part and hoping the symptom goes away.

3. You get the options in plain terms

We explain what failed, what the repair takes, and what replacement would cost if the system is old enough for that conversation.

4. We finish the repair

Incomplete fixes turn into bigger bills later, so the work gets finished the first time rather than patched to get through the week.

HVAC Questions We Hear From Homeowners

Yes. The Woodlands is part of our regular service area, run out of our office on FM 2920 in Tomball. Phones are answered 24 hours a day and same-day service is available. Evening and weekend calls carry no extra charge.

A properly sized, properly working AC should hold indoor humidity around 50 to 52 percent in the Houston area. Readings of 60 percent or higher usually point to a ductwork problem, an airflow problem, refrigerant loss, or a system that was oversized for the house. Diagnose the AC before buying a dehumidifier. Here is the longer explanation.

Most systems last 10 to 20 years, though major problems now tend to show up closer to the 10-year mark. We repair first. When a system is 10 or more years old with falling efficiency and repeat repairs, we lay out replacement cost next to a payback schedule so you can compare. More on repair versus replacement.

Amana replacement systems run from $7,669 for a 2-ton 16 SEER single-speed system up to $13,671 for a 5-ton 20 SEER variable-speed system. The right size comes from a load calculation, not a guess, since an oversized unit short cycles and leaves humidity behind. Full cost breakdown for Houston homes.

The technician clears organic buildup off the coils, confirms the drain lines are clear, checks refrigerant pressures and temperatures, and measures amperage at the compressor and fan motor. The point is to catch parts drifting out of spec before they take something larger with them. See service agreements.

That pipe is the emergency drain line for your AC. Water coming out of it means the primary drain line is clogged and the emergency pan in the attic is holding water. Call before it reaches the ceiling. We clear the line with compressed nitrogen and clean out the connection under the bathroom sink, which is where the clog usually forms.
